37) Myanmar February 2017 // Silent Movies // Friends // Art // Life // Food // Music
In 2017 I was again traveling with Meike Goosmann and her band colleagues.
This time we were to come together to play to the silent movie "Mya Ga Naing"
Silent movies were and still are a big thing and very popular in Myanmar.
"Mya Ga Naing" is kind of a road movie.
This are some impressions of the rehearsals we did for "Mya Ga Naing":

Here is a spontaneous morning improvisation of Michael Vatcher with the sounds of Yangon:
Pictures of the silent movie "Mya Ga Naing" I found in a cafe.
More impressions without words.
Hanging together.
Visiting a friend of Tim Isfort and Jan Klare.
An instrument maker.
We were invited to dinner and of course later on bought some of his instruments.
With the gong player of Thaung Htike´s Hsaing Waing.
